Erin Nipps is an experienced dance instructor at Studio 33, specializing in teaching a variety of dance styles for children and teens. With over 20 years of dance experience, Erin's journey began with 8 years of competitive dancing, culminating in being named "Future Dance Star" by Dance Spirit Magazine. Dancing at Jamie's Dance Odyssey in South Jersey, her tap group "Come Sail Away," won "Best Group Tap Routine" at the Industry Dance Awards in 2017. Erin furthered her dance education at the New York City Joffrey Ballet School, where she was rewarded a scholarship for their summer jazz program for three consecutive years. She has also trained at Broadway Dance Studio in New York City and Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles, refining her skills across various dance styles. During her time at Drexel University, Erin was a pivotal member of the Division 1 Drexel University Dance Team, where she held leadership roles and served as Captain during her Senior Year. The team competed in events such as the UDA Battle of the Northeast and performed at all Mens/Womens basketball games, showcasing their talent in pom, jazz and hip hop routines. Erin also had the opportunity to choreograph 3 halftime routines for numerous basketball games. As a seasoned instructor, Erin teaches at Dancing Classrooms Philadelphia, focusing on ballroom technique and hip hop for students aged 5 to 18. She has also teaches at adult drop-in dance studios, Evolve Dance and Safe Haven Dance, sharing her passion and expertise with dancers of all levels. Erin's choreographic talents were highlighted at the Flair Dance Festival, where she choreographed a contemporary piece addressing Mental Health Awareness in the Dance Industry, set to "Bird Set Free" by Sia. Additionally, she participated in the intensive Industry Dance Program at I Am Phresh, learning from top hip hop choreographers worldwide. Beyond dance, Erin serves as a Public Health Program Analyst at the Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services, where she instructs Mental Health First Aid courses, promoting mental well-being within the community. Erin is thrilled to continue her journey at Studio 33 for her second year, where she teaches hip hop, tap, pom, and technique. She also looks forward to representing the Philadelphia Eagles as a member of their 2024-2025 Cheerleading Squad, bringing her passion for dance to the field and engaging with fans worldwide.
